Come soar with us! This position is for an on-site Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op who will join the Manufacturing support team at the Collins Aerospace Manchester, Iowa facility for the Summer/Fall 2024 session.
Primary responsibility will be to support the lean manufacture of Avionics Displays electronics equipment, working side by side with fellow industrial engineers, production floor operators and manufacturing support/engineering staff, to resolve product flow and quality issues associated with state of the art manufacturing techniques.
The candidate should be self-motivated and eager to learn about the manufacture of cutting edge commercial and military cockpit displays.
This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, and will run May/June to December; it is only eligible for current students with a graduation date past December 2024.

Primary Responsibilities: Provide manufacturing engineering support to production build and testing of avionics electronics equipment.
Identify root cause of manufacturing defects, process inhibitors and implement effective correction action measures Identify drivers of cost and propose alternative solutions for cost reductions.
Perform cost analysis and trade-offs.
Ability to work in cross functional team Estimate costs and participate in preparation of proposals and presentations.
Perform moderate to advanced engineering economics principles and techniques and analyze and understand manufacturing cost impacts.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and projects using the CORE methodology Ability to diagnose problems and recommend alternative solutions.
Knowledge of principles and techniques commonly used in electronics manufacturing.
Basic Qualifications: Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD.
The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
