Job Summary Join our CRANDIC team as a Supervisor of Train Operations and become a part of the rich history of the rail! In this role you will be responsible for assisting in the scheduling and coordinating of train crews to meet customer expectations and demands in a safe and efficient manner.
Additionally, you will monitor the compliance of subordinates to General Code of Operating Rules, CRANDIC Rail safety rules and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) rules and regulations.
What you will do Demonstrates leadership in the area of safety.
This requires observing and enforcing safety rules and practices, encouraging safe work behaviors, and promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behaviors which may lead to accidents.
Manages the Train-service workforce to ensure transportation needs are met and operate within the budget.
Works with other managers to coordinate the priorities of all departments across the railroad to meet common goals.
Imbeds flexibility into the daily schedule to allow other departments the time desired to repair, maintain, and inspect rolling stock and infrastructure.
Coordinate with the Yard Office and other supervisors to ensure efficient use of locomotives and crews while maintain safety along with shipping and receiving expectations.
Assists marketing department in joint meetings with customers to develop service parameters.
Responds to emergencies and service interruptions.
Performs all management duties including, but not limited to, budgeting, hiring, performance reviews, coordinating and scheduling work, salary recommendations, discipline, ensure employees report to work fit for duty, leadership, grievance resolution, coaching & counseling, models Travero Core values at all times.
Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree Emphasis in business administration, engineering, or related area Preferred Required Experience 3 years of experience with a railroad and/or railroad activities Other Requirements Promotes and supports diversity initiatives and equal employment opportunity.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated effective leadership or supervisory skills preferred.
Working knowledge of Federal Railroad Administration rules and regulations (CFR) and General Code of Operating Rules (GCOR).
Demonstrated experience working in union environment.
Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt to change.
Demonstrated prioritizing and organizational skills.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.
g.
, e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management).
Demonstrated a dedication to safety excellence.
