Collins Aerospace is seeking a talented & motivated individual to join the Avionics Advanced Systems & Architectures (ASA) organization as a Product Line Value Stream Leader (VSL) for the Avionics Common Software Core product line.
This is an onsite role located in Cedar Rapids, IA.
Remote may be considered for highly-qualified candidates.
What YOU will do: • Spearhead the implementation of an innovative approach to management of software as a product line.
• Develop and own the overall business and technical strategy for the common software product line.
• Roadmap the development and deployment of features and engage with stakeholders to ensure needs are met.
• Manage day-to-day execution of the development of new features and updates/fixes, in accordance with cost and schedule baselines.
What YOU will learn: • You will gain leadership experience over a cross-functional, globally dispersed development team.
• You will gain experience in strategic and business engagements with multiple departments across Collins and RTX, including Avionics Channels and your peer Avionics Product Lines as well as key central functions such as Global Trade and engineering infrastructure.
• You will gain experience and serve as an eventual subject matter focal regarding how to manage software product lines and generate revenue from the sale or licensing of software and manage associated intellectual property.
Qualified candidates will have a strong background in project management with experience leading and managing complex technical or system developments.
Successful candidates will demonstrate an ability to apply strategic insight and critical thinking in solving complex problems.
Candidates will also successfully balance technical knowledge and business acumen in their management approach.
Primary Responsibilities: Provides VSL support to peer product lines and channels for respective segment analyses.
Leads greenroom activities to develop and inform roadmap advancements.
Develops investment business cases, new business growth strategies and drives annual strategic planning efforts for the business.
Identifies and reacts to program problems and recommends solutions, such as allocation of resources or prioritization of feature development and assists in resolution development for escalated problems.
Execution responsibilities include cost, schedule, technical performance, risk management, product support, deployment support, and quality.
Work with all stakeholders to ensure commitments are met or exceeded.
Interfaces with stakeholders for project specifications to ensure successful completion.
Leads decision making for the IPTs and applying critical thinking where incomplete data exists.
Communicates vision to their IPT and stakeholders within and outside of the function, as well as connects how the vision fits within the Avionics business.
Requires an ability to effectively communicate with senior executive leadership regarding matters of strategic importance to the organization.
Prepares and presents value-stream strategy, progress, and results.
Consolidates and presents progress reports at program or product reviews.
Establishes data-driven performance targets and directs work to achieve these targets.
Accountable for the overall performance of the assigned value stream.
Qualifications/Experience Required: Typically requires University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.

Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders to achieve enterprise commitments is required.
Must have experience leading cross-functional teams with matrixed responsibilities.

Experience with Civil certification.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD.
