What you will do? As the Lead Shift Leader, you will be responsible to coordinate the activities of your assigned shift while providing direct care services to clientele.
This position provides operational leadership to assure behavior management, documentation and logging is complete and accurate.
Specific duties include: Behavior Management Provide consistent, individualized reinforcement to client behavior, using daily issues to teach and reinforce adaptive behaviors.
Utilize a proactive/preventive method of intercepting problems to neutralize them before they escalate.
Strategically utilize identified behavior management techniques and other de-escalation trainings to assist clients in developing appropriate behaviors.
Assist clients in developing insight into their behaviors so that they learn to self-identify and self correct.
Understand the impact of clients behaviors on their own actions/reactions in the workplace and utilizes team feedback to enhance the effectiveness of their interventions.
Direct Care Know the population and is aware of individualized treatment plan.
Provide daily living supervision and treatment intervention.
Establish a therapeutic relationship with the client based on trust & respect.
Evaluate the impact of behavioral, group treatment, and life-space interventions and provide direction/feedback.
Assure consistent, ongoing, and timely provision for basic client needs.
Follow medication management guidelines.
Safely transport youth to/from program activities and community resources monitoring behaviors .
Effectively participate in team to review case progress and provide best programming.
People Ensure all Casey Life Skills Assessments are completed in a timely manner.
Ensure coordination of medical appointments takes place as required.
Conduct initial interviews of new staff members.
Complete BHIS tracking to ensure that all BHIS notes are in and locked.
Monitor token economy system, and make adjustments as needed.
Coordinate home visit transportation logistics.
Ensure weekly summaries are complete, and follow up with program coordinator regarding any outstanding incomplete summaries.
Coordinate staff scheduling with Program Manager.
Provide direction and support to shift leaders/youth counselors by being on call when needed, facilitating stagework training, and being a program representative when program coordinator is not in building.
Problem solve with fellow Shift Leaders and program coordinator to help fill any staffing gaps that may arise.
Ensure that all census documentation is complete and accurate.
What you need: To qualify for this position you must be at least 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED plus two (2) years of child welfare experience.
A Bachelor’s degree in a social services related field is preferable.
