We are currently seeking a full time Director of Fleet Operations to add to our team of professionals.
This position will be based out of our Cedar Rapids, IA office location.
Please note that the Director of Fleet Operations position is a senior-level, autonomous role requiring considerable time, effort, professionalism, independence, ingenuity, collaboration, and efficiency.
The individual filling this role must be willing and able to fulfill the entire suite of duties, goals, and responsibilities of this position with little to no guidance, direction, and/or supervision.
*Primary Responsibilities:* * Manage operation and maintenance of the company's entire fleet of equipment and vehicles * Must be highly competent using software/technology to manage data and identify/resolve issues * Continuously analyze and adjust the company's fleet to meet operational needs * Ensure the fleet operates in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements * Oversee the creation, monitoring, management and execution of all company repairs and maintenance budgets * Create, monitor, manage and execute all fleet related policies, procedures and programs * Develop, manage, and evaluate all fleet related vendor, supplier, equipment, and maintenance accounts * Develop and manage the company’s asset management systems (Maintenance Pro and Samsara) and utilize data to improve fleet efficiency and guide capital expenditures * Complete, obtain and manage fleet related regulatory reports, permits, licensing, registrations, insurance audits, IFTA submissions and all other fleet related regulatory requirements * Arrange, permit, manage and monitor the interstate transportation of company equipment between project sites * Manage all company fleet/shop supervisors and mechanics assigned to company maintenance facilities and shop locations * Ensure efficient operation of all company maintenance facilities *Additional Responsibilities:* * Must travel as required to successfully fulfill the duties of this position (25%+ travel expected) * Must create, complete and submit measurables and/or reports as required * Must be willing to assist the company with tasks/projects as directed *Minimum Requirements:* * Bachelor’s degree * 5 years' experience developing and managing a company-wide fleet management program * 5 years' experience compiling and analyzing fleet related data and metrics * 5 years' experience managing fleets composed of both commercial semi-trucks and heavy equipment * Extensive knowledge of DOT rules and regulations governing commercial hauling * High competency with computer software including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel * Ability to write and communicate technically *Work Environment:* * The employee filling this position will report to the company's Cedar Rapids office when not traveling.
* The employee filling this position will be expected to work the days/hours required to fulfil the full suite of duties and responsibilities assigned to the position.
* Job functions will be carried out in a vast array of environments including but not limited to maintenance facilities, job sites, customer facilities, vehicles, planes, agricultural sites, landfills, end user facilities, residences, airports, hotels, etc.
* Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend, and kneel.
* May be required to push, pull, move or lift up to 100 lbs.
* Regularly required reach with hands and arms.
* Regularly required to travel great distances using all methods of transportation.
